Swiss fashion watch maker Swatch presents three rugged, sporty and colourful new models uniting high-spirited joie de vivre with the world’s most popular winter sports event: the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The new collection plays with official themes, colours, mascots and the emblem associated with the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The colourful official emblem depicts an inukshuk, a traditional stone sculpture used by Canada's Inuit people. Four coloured stones—red, yellow, light blue and dark blue—form the body, and a fifth stone, green, represents the head of an eagle. Beneath the sculpture are the words Vancouver 2010 and the five interlocking Olympic rings. Two official mascots known as Quatchi and Miga, both inspired by legends of the Pacific Northwest First Nations, appear on the Gent in this collection, while the Jelly in Jelly Snowpass presents a striking design evocative of traditional First Nations art, and the Chrono Plastic plays with blues and greens suggestive of the coastal forests, mountain ranges and islands surrounding Vancouver and the sites of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
